Kathmandu is the home base for Underside, a heavy metal powerhouse that has gained a massive following both in Nepal and abroad. Their sound is a brutal mix of thrash, death, and groove metal, defined by aggressive riffs and dark, emotional lyrics. While they stick to their metal roots, they often weave in traditional Nepali musical elements to create a unique style that tackles everything from personal hardship to complex social and political issues.
